Hey Chicago, Welcome to the 21st Century

Chicago is the third largest city in the country. The top 2, NY and LA have had smoking bans since 2003 and 1998 respectively. So of course I was shocked (and thoroughly annoyed) when we moved here and I found out you could actually still smoke in bars and restaurants. It seemed so outdated, so ridiculous, like having someone light up next to you on a plane. And after years and years of smoke free drinking and dining in Boston, it was one of the tougher adjustments to make. Much to my relief, as of January 1st 2008, the windy city has enacted it's first-ever smoking ban. So Congratulations Chicago, welcome to the 21st Century.
